Franschhoek wine farms

Franschhoek has some of the most stunning scenery in the wine world and some of the Cape’s best wines. The wineries range from very large to very small. They are all a few minutes drive from Akademie Street guest house and boutique hotel. You can also visit several of them by bicycle or on horseback.

Not all guides agree with John Platter of course but then finding what you like is the fun part of drinking wine.

If you want to find out about the visiting and tasting policy of each vineyard we give the e-mail addresses below. One is much more likely to get a tasting at those that are not open to the public if one sends an e-mail asking for an appointment. But don’t worry most of the below are very welcoming even although you have not made an appointment.
